The Friends of Saratoga Springs Public Library and Shelters of Saratoga are proud to team up for a special screening of The Public. Ticket sales benefit Code Blue and The Friends of Saratoga Springs Public Library.
In writer-director Emilio Estevez’ second feature film, a group of homeless people in dire need of shelter during a deadly winter cold snap stage an occupation in downtown Cincinnati . The Public is a tragi-comic story revolving around some of our nation’s most challenging issues, including homelessness, mental illness, polarized government, and slanted news coverage, set inside one of the last bastions of democracy-in-action: the public library.
