Donating Books to the Friends Book Shop

If you would like to donate books to the Friends Book Shop, the books should be clean, dry, and odor-free. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept textbooks, dated reference books, or damaged or soiled books. Prior to donation, please consider a book’s appeal to a customer in terms of both subject matter and appearance. In addition to books, we accept donations of audiovisual materials, such as CDs, DVDs, and record albums.

Smaller donations (up to 2 bags) are accepted any time during regular shop hours. For larger donation quantities (up to 3 boxes), we require an appointment. To manage the influx of generous donations, we have 2 appointments per weekday, so thanks in advance for your patience if you need to book a little ways out. With questions or to schedule a donation slot, email bookshop@fsspl.org or call 518-584-7860 x333.

Surplus books donated to the Friends Book Shop and from the Library can be provided to community organizations and schools. We are always looking for new recipients of our used books.
