
Beck Krefting is Professor of American Studies specializing in stand-up comedy studies and Director of the Center for Leadership, Teaching, and Learning at Skidmore College. She is the former vice-president and president of the American Humor Studies Association as well as a co-founder and co-President of the Critical Humor Studies Association. She has published a monograph titled: All Joking Aside: American Humor and Its Discontents and dozens of articles in edited collections, academic journals, and public forums, and she has been invited to present her scholarship nationally and internationally.
